How i would like all this congregation talk about Spiritual things, as I'm listening to you, but everything in its time, growth is not the same, some simply grow first and more than others, thank the Lord for the growth you are experiencing, This will be profitable for you and those who listen to you and for this congregation, for the honor and glory of God
The determining factor in a person's permanence in the gospel is: the genuineness of his FAITH in Christ Jesus, Ephesians 1 13 In him you also, having heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and having believed in him, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise
Firmness is based on truth, everything has to start well so that it ends well, if it starts badly, it ends badly, unless the evil is corrected, and it starts well again.
Although God activates our will in an act of grace and mercy so that we not only will but can also respond affirmatively to his call and affirmations of salvation, justification, etc., our will and power to respond to God's call for salvation has no merit. any, nor in our salvation or sanctification,
It is God who gives us the FAITH we need to believe in Christ, Ephesians 2, 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
The fact that God chose us before all things were created, and accommodated us within a succession of events, which he commits to fulfill, is a guarantee that we will remain firm,
Romans 8:29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers . 30 And those whom he predestined, these he also called ; and those whom he called , these he also justified ; and those whom he justified , these he also glorified .
In this succession of events God takes us from, FOREKNEW US , through a series of events, (marked in blue) to Glorifying us, regardless of whether we agree with HIM or not, the fact that we agree with God that He does all these things in our lives and that we are willing to suffer, and to wait on Him, while these changes occur in us is a miracle, the work of His Holy Spirit in us,
Of course all this happens throughout our Christian life, therefore we will have to make decisions, but the decisions we make are only in obedience, as a result of listening to the voice and advice of God, we do not do it to sustain our permanence in the gospel, our permanence in the gospel would be too much of a burden, heavy for us and would crush us, that is a burden that only God can carry
Jude 1, 24 And to him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, 25 to the only wise God, our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, now and to all the ages. Amen
The person who does not persevere and turns away never had genuine (real) faith or conversion.
no matter how real it may have seemed.
1st John 5:19 They came from us, but they were not of us; because if they had been ours, they would have remained with us; but they came out so that it would be shown that not all of them are of us. 20 But you have the anointing of the Holy One, and you know all things.
According to this passage they, (those who came out) did not have the anointing (Holy Spirit)
just like the case of the five virgins who stayed
Matthew 25: 8 And the foolish said to the wise, Give us some of your oil; because our lamps go out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, So that we and you may not lack, go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 But while they were going to buy, the husband came; and those who were ready went with him to the wedding; and the door was closed. 11 Then the other virgins also came, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us! 12 But he answered and said, Truly I say to you, I do not know you. 13 Watch therefore, for you do not know the day or the hour in which the Son of Man will come.
Our God may help you in every area of you life, keep up the good work, God bless you all
